JOB PURPOSE:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the safety, quality, and efficiency of the branch operations. The Operations Manager will train and develop a high-performing warehouse team, and in some locations, they will be responsible for the fleet. The Operations Manager will build collaborative relationships with other branch leaders in the region, and work very closely with the Warehouse & Logistics team. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager. The warehouse staff will report directly to the Operations Manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the warehouse team through change, maintaining a positive and motivational environment to foster growth.
- Works with the Branch Manager to hire and develop new members of the warehouse team as needed.
- Schedules shifts and completes payroll reporting for the warehouse team on a bi-weekly basis.
- Monitors employee performance through regular 1-1 check-ins, feedback in Lattice, and annual 360 reviews.
- Handles disciplinary actions as needed in alignment with all company policies.
- At locations where the Operations Manager is responsible for the fleet, they will be responsible for all the above for drivers in addition to warehouse staff.
- Warehouse & Logistics (40%)
- Works directly with the Warehouse & Logistics team to ensure all warehouse staff are trained in processes.
- Holds the warehouse team accountable for process compliance to ensure quality performance in all areas of warehousing: receiving, storage, inventory movement, cycle counting, packaging, and order processing.
- Special focus on maintaining inventory accuracy through a robust cycle counting process.
- Directs the safe and effective use of the warehouse space, including racking, equipment, tools and supplies, and makes recommendations to Branch Manager for adjustments as necessary to optimize throughput.
- At locations where the Operations Manager is responsible for fleet, they will direct the safe & efficient use of company fleet and ensure that the fleet maintenance is performed according to company standards.
- Ensures that employee safety is Priority #1 and that the branch culture promotes a zero incident safety mindset.
- Collaborates with the EH&S Manager on all safety topics, ensures new initiatives are implemented, and keeps the EH&S Mgr informed of any situations that may arise.
- Ensures that the team complies with all safety practices and standards, including OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Ensures that all incidents are reported and recorded immediately.
- Brings any safety concerns to Branch Manager immediately.
- Ensures all warehouse employees attend and complete safety training courses and certifications on time.
- Learning and Development (10%)
- Mandatory participation in weekly People Manager Training series.
- Participation in special projects, cross-functional working groups and sprints as opportunities arise.
- Participation in weekly Learning is Fun meetings, Baytalk culture meetings, and Virtual Coffee Breaks.
- Participation in Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and other committees that arise.
- Taking ownership of your own growth and development; seeking out additional resources to support this.
- All other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

- The hourly rate for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 OTE per year. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and shipping.
- Well organized and self-directed.
- Good problem-solving, attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Able to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; set priorities and have a sense of urgency when deadlines need to be obtained.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- One to two years related experience, including warehouse.
- One to two years people management experience
- Familiarity with inventory planning and warehouse management.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience with WMS, ERP and CRMs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to travel between 5% to 10% of the time.
