Responsible for first line supervision of technical employees. Responsible for the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance servicing of Telecommunications, Data, Fiber Optics and EMS (Energy Management System) equipment. Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance in all related Telecom Maintenance areas.

Telecommunications Foreman
Hiring Wage: $66.11

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction to Telecommunications Technicians.
- Supervise, motivate, and train Technicians on the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance servicing of telecommunications and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) equipment.
- Prepare, coordinate, and assign work schedules in accordance with the Tri-State telecomm maintenance program.
- Provide input for employee performance evaluations to the Superintendent. Completes evaluation forms and leads discussion with employee.
- Instruct Technicians on the proper procedures for maintenance of equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance servicing of equipment as required to ensure compliance with all NERC/FERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation/Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) Regulations.
- Install and test new Telecommunications, Data, Fiber Optics and EMS equipment as required.
- Coordinate repair or replacement of failed equipment in order to minimize downtime. Assign team members to correction actions at all hours as required to restore services.
- Operate and maintain off-road and all-terrain vehicles.
- Record and enter maintenance data into the computerized maintenance system.
- Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.
- Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- Eight (8) years of combined education and experience in electronic field. This would consist of: The equivalent of technical training received in an Associate Degree program in Electronics Engineering Technology with advance studies in radio communications (including microwave) and digital systems (including microprocessors, networking equipment and principals, peripheral equipment, and programming).
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Must be capable of satisfactorily interpreting and teaching electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and control logic.
- Knowledge of first aid and safety requirements peculiar to the electrical utility industry.
- Must be able to meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Other:
- Willingness to travel up to 75 percent of working time, including overnight travel.
- Willingness to work on antenna systems and tower structures in excess of 300 feet in height.
- Willingness to be on call on a 24-hour basis.
- Must reside within a one (1) hour radius of the base location.
