The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the industrial & material flow processes within the factory. This includes overseeing the design, development, and implementation of factory layout, material flow systems to meet safety and operational excellence. The role requires a strong understanding of material flow, manufacturing processes, lean principles, operation system and the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's Weirton, WV facility. Relocation assistance is available.
Factory layout & Material flow : design , develop and implement factory layout and material system & equipment to meet operational excellence, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of industrial engineers and other technical staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance.
Project Management: Lead engineering projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
Lean Manufacturing: Promote and implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production & equipment data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets for the engineering department, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all engineering activities comply with safety regulations and standards. Lead initiatives to improve workplace safety.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, maintenance, supply chain, manufacturing engineering) to resolve issues and improve overall factory performance.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on engineering activities, project progress, and performance metrics for senior management.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering, with at least 2/3 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
Education: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles.
Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams.
Excellent project management skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications: Lean Six Sigma certification or similar credentials are desirable.
Other Requirements: Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools (e.g., CAD, ERP systems).
