Job Description
Pluton is seeking a Research Associate I to join the Molecular Biology team. This position will primarily support next-generation sequencing and qPCR applications across Plutons Research & Development. Pluton is a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup. This opportunity is perfect for a collaborative and motivated molecular biologist.
Responsibilities
<ul>
 <li>Execute a variety of molecular biology techniques and established protocols including PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extractions, and next-generation sequencing library creation.</li>
 <li>Support operation and maintenance of automated liquid handlers.</li>
 <li>Handle, organize, and track large numbers of samples.</li>
 <li>Maintain an accurate and detailed laboratory notebook.</li>
 <li>Analyze and report data and results within and across teams.</li>
 <li>Conduct research in accordance with or exceeding all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.</li>
 <li>Pluton is a microbial company so knowledge of standard microbiological techniques such as sterile technique, serial dilutions, preparation of liquid and solid culture medias, etc. is a plus.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications 
<ul>
 <li>B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.</li>
 <li>Familiarity with general molecular biology techniques and equipment.</li>
 <li>Ability to independently manage time, projects, and work quality.</li>
 <li>Must have reliable transportation.</li>
 <li>This position requires the ability to sit, stand, lift 20 pounds, and repetitive pipetting.</li>
 <li>You must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States.</li>

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
