Duties & Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Create site layouts and designs in AutoCAD/Civil 3D for utility and commercial-scale renewable energy projects.</li>
<li>Apply broad knowledge of renewable energy system components such as modules, racking, inverters, and Balance of Systems (BOS).</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.</li>
<li>Manage time efficiently across multiple projects.</li>
<li>Coordinate with clients and project managers on their expectations.</li>
<li>Work under the guidance of more senior staff.</li>
<li>Work on or lead small projects or portions of larger projects in preparation of drawings and engineering documentation.</li>
<li>Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.</li>
<li>Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.</li>
<li>Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with discipline team members to complete assignments.</li>
<li>Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.</li>
<li>Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems, and possible solutions.</li>
<li>Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment.</li>
<li>Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.</li>
<li>Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.</li>
</ul>
 
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar applicable work experience</li>
<li>2+ years of experience in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil3D.</li>
<li>Prior solar PV system or energy storage system design experience is required, preferably at the commercial or utility scale.</li>
<li>Knowledge of GIS software tools is desirable.</li>
<li>Knowledge of solar PV industry-specific tools such as PVSyst or similar is desirable.</li>
<li>Ability to identify and solve complex problems.</li>
<li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to be both creative and analytical.</li>
<li>Detail-oriented and accurate.</li>
<li>Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines.</li>
