Position Description
Evaluates, tests and makes recommendations regarding customer concerns/problems, manufacturing methods, design modifications, and engineering processes using broad product knowledge. Works with existing, modified and new products.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops, conducts and analyzes standard tests and prepares conclusive technical reports to resolve customer concerns/problems
- Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve problems
- Originates and applies new and unique approaches to evaluate engine, component and product design failures
- Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to Concept Analysis, Business Case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps
- Recommends methods of manufacturing during the design of new products,design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
- Travels to customer sites as necessary to review applications and discuss problems
- Assists internal key stakeholders in developing and demonstrating new business initiatives for customers aimed at product placement and sales/revenue improvement
- Organizes and coordinates product related activities for external customers as required
- Performs analysis of modeled engineering problems using existing methods/software
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
- Able to convey an understanding verbally and in writing of technical concepts and issues to non-technical personnel internally and externally
- Knowledgeable in mechanical/electrical requirements related to the area of responsibility
- Basic knowledge of engineering related computer systems/software
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures
- Proficient knowledge of internal combustion engines and related products
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
- Minimum five years of engineering or engineering related experience required
- Two years of professional experience working closely with non-technical personnel in a technical environment
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 25%
