Position Specific Description
Florida Power & Light Co is seeking a highly skilled Senior Physical Security Specialist to join our team located in our Juno Beach corporate headquarters.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Be familiar with ASIS Protection of Assets (POA) standards and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles.
- Have experience working within construction project teams.
- Possess a basic familiarity with TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
- Hold at least one of the following credentials (or equivalent): PSP, CPP, PMP, or CSPM.
Job Overview
Employees in this role are responsible for leading the Physical Security team and providing technical guidance and expertise concerning highly complex technical security functions such as: use of technical equipment in investigations, Physical Access Control System (PACS), maintenance of the Enterprise Physical Security Plans (PSP), recommendation and evaluation of intrusion detection systems, CCTV/Video Management surveillance systems. Individuals ensure programs are designed to maximize asset protection and minimize asset loss during normal and emergency conditions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages budgets to include forecasting and business unit planning for other departments within the company in regards to security systems
- Leads surveys of new and existing properties and prepares written recommendations for security systems
- Manages suppliers projects and new installations throughout the company
- Leads collaborative works with Security Operations Systems Support and the Security Operations Center to test and troubleshoot alarm, access control devices and infrastructure to ensure system integrity
- Manages and directs projects for security system installations to meet regulatory requirements in access control, intrusion detection and CCTV for compliance with NERC, MTSA and FERC regulations
- Monitors and ensure full NERC CIP compliance relative to access control issues and certifies installations function correctly before turning system over to the responsible business unit
- Serves as the company technical resource for NERC compliance and acts as the certifying authority for all physical security drawings in direct relation to NERC installations
- Develops company standards for installation and design of security system components
- Prepares written documentation on technical problems, incidents, front line investigative issues and other security related matters
- Conducts surveys, makes recommendations for covert installations, and carries out the installations in direct support of Corporate Security Investigations
- Continually researches security industry solutions for more cost effective and reliable security systems
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
