This role will be dedicated to one of JLLs largest clients, a global leader in technology and innovation. You will be working alongside the worlds leading technologists and innovators, helping them to achieve their ambitious 2030 Sustainability Commitments.

The Energy Engineer II is responsible for supporting energy programs across the organization. This includes identifying opportunities for energy savings, implementing energy efficiency projects, and monitoring and reporting on energy performance. The Energy Engineer II will also work with other departments to ensure that energy efficiency is considered in all aspects of the organization’s operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization

Knowledge of building automation systems and understanding of control logic to recommend best practices in order to improve efficiency and operation of equipment

Experience assessing energy, water systems and sustainability programs.

Ability to analyze trend data and develop reports with recommendations, discrepancies, and description of system performance

Experience with data logging and analysis of large data sets

Identify conservation areas where consultation is needed (via analysis of trends, temporary logged data, monthly utility data)

Research and identify opportunities for reducing energy usage, related conservation programs, and their related costs, for all properties as assigned, in support of clients overall business objectives.

Familiar with new building commissioning & existing building retro commissioning

Experience with energy savings and financial calculations and performing advanced IPMVP measurement and verification (M&V) analytics via Excel

Analyze projects in relation to total life cost and available incentive programs and prepare proposals for presentation to our client.

Possess in-depth knowledge of all mechanical and control systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems, renewable energy and related systems.

Become familiar with the various tools for measuring client’s carbon footprint and develop means for recording it on a quarterly basis, working to reduce it in conjunction with energy and related conservation programs.

Become familiar with the layout of the facilities, location of storage rooms, shops, mechanical rooms and equipment, major conference rooms, labs, and the various building systems utilizing energy and resources: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, life safety, emergency generators, UPS systems, domestic water, irrigation, etc.

Report any abnormal conditions or needed repairs immediately to Facilities Managers and Chief Engineers.

Ability to safely escort contractors and consultants to perform onsite inspections of mechanical equipment and provide details of their operations

Reporting and Communication

Establishes a positive rapport with staff and management to ensure a high level of customer service

Presents findings and recommendations to stakeholders

Track energy savings and provide commentary progress against goals and targets

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field

3+ years of experience in energy efficiency engineering

Experience with energy audits, energy efficiency projects, and energy data analysis

Strong understanding of energy efficiency best practices and technologies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working knowledge of building automation and control systems

Working knowledge of central plants and supporting systems

Experience with utility rebate and demand response programs

Strong written and oral communication skills

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets

Desired Certifications/Licenses:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid drivers license.

Professional Engineer (PE) desired

Six Sigma certification or equivalent ISO experience and training preferred
