Electrical Safety Engineer Energy Storage – California (Other US locations available)

IV-Search are working with a leading third-party testing lab, we are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Safety Engineer to join a growing team in California. In this role, you will play a critical role in evaluating the safety of energy storage products, ensuring they meet the highest standards before reaching market.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to evaluate energy storage products against national and international safety standards (UL, IEC, etc.) specific to the technology.
• Perform a variety of advanced electrical safety tests on energy storage products.
• Analyze complex test data and identify potential safety issues in energy storage systems.
• Collaborate with clients and manufacturers to develop corrective actions and ensure product safety.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest electrical safety standards and testing methodologies specific to energy storage technologies.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive electrical safety test reports and documentation for client deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in electrical safety testing with a focus on energy storage products. Gained through a 3rd party test lab or other relevant areas.
• Proven experience with relevant electrical safety standards for energy storage (e.g., UL 1973, IEC 62133 etc..).
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and principles, with a focus on battery technology and power electronics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of safety issues.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
