Job Description

Energy storage is the most exciting area in energy today. Massive amounts of energy storage are required if renewable energy is to take its rightful place on the electric grid. Invinity provides an alternative to the most common type of battery, lithium-ion because the battery technology that works so well in our pockets doesn’t work as well at the grid scale; it wears out, limits use, and even catches fire.

Manufactured as a standardized product in a factory, Invinity’s vanadium flow batteries don’t degrade, won’t catch fire, and can be operated continuously from full charge to full discharge for 25 years. Invinity has 75,000 kilowatt-hours of its modular battery systems in 82 projects across 15 countries – more than any other company in the space. We’ve deployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, and are supported by the UK Infrastructure Bank, the U.S. Department of Energy, and some of the world’s leading institutional investors.

A compelling product and recent funding put Invinity in a position to grow dramatically as it addresses the global imperative for stationary energy storage. Join us as we help transform renewable energy into a stable and dependable contributor to the transition to net zero.

Invinity has operations in the UK, Canada, the U.S., Australia, and China and trades publicly in the UK on AIM and AQSE and in the U.S. on OTCQX. For more information about us visit our webpage.

As Invinity’s Regional Director of Sales UK, you will play a critical role in growing the company’s business through regional sales and partners. As a strategic manager, you will be directly responsible for the continued commercial development, sales performance, and growth of this market segment. You will evolve and lead the commercial program, represent Invinity interests, develop external stakeholders to increase impact, and communicate opportunities, issues, and risks to the organisation.

You have compelling reasons for project developers, power producers, and channel partners to consider using vanadium flow batteries, and you know what matters to them. You are an exceptional communicator and negotiator. You understand energy in the UK, not just from the developer side, but for each role critical to a successful project. Prior experience with stationary energy storage or renewables is a must for this role. Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed regional objectives including sales targets, partner program recruitment, and marketing program objectives;
  • Build and execute strategic plans to develop or grow the highest priority market segments;
  • Report and communicate performance metrics, insights, and recommendations for improved performance;
  • Hire, manage, and develop personnel within the region;
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and deliver ongoing training to employees;
  • Drive consistent communication between regional employees and the rest of the company, ensuring global alignment to corporate priorities;
  • Contribute to the ongoing strategic development of commercial plans and programs, including sharing successes and challenges, refining best practices, and identifying and escalating key issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; candidates with a background in engineering and an MBA are preferred;
  • 10 years of Commercial/Sales leadership within the Energy market (preferably solar, wind, storage), with an understanding of design/build projects, development, and sales;
  • Deep technical and financial understanding of the UK energy market;
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills;
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to drive results and overcome obstacles;
  • Superb organisational and time management attributes with demonstrated ability to prioritise activities, meet deadlines and deliver results in a rapidly growing team and rapidly evolving market.

If you are great at what you do, willing to engage with our collaborative culture, and motivated by making a difference in the world, consider joining us. Invinity Energy Systems is small enough that every team member plays a critical role in our daily business, but large enough to participate in landmark clean energy projects around the world.
