Job Description

My client is a well-funded renewable energy tech startup that is a first-of-its-kind and is utilized by some of the largest solar developers, utilities, and technology integrators on the market. Their unique platform aims to facilitate the full life-cycle development, diligence, execution, financing, and asset management of renewable projects. Over 3GW of PV and 1GWh of BESS development is utilized by their software.

Position Overview:

As the capital markets Project Manager you’ll act as an agile project finance leader who can interface with IPPs and collaborate on the data needed for obtaining tax equity and debt financing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement Management: Oversee and direct client engagements, including market-entry analysis, project development, and financing support.
  • Project Financing: Manage workstreams related to development, debt, back-leverage, tax equity, and credit ratings, ensuring smooth execution from initiation to closing.
  • Technical & Financial Support: Conduct and support analyses of solar PV and energy storage projects across various US markets.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Expertly manage interactions with external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Scope Development: Create scopes of work for proposals, including costing and scheduling.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years in renewable energy project development and finance, including 2+ years in capital markets transactions.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage and execute multiple C&I or utility-scale projects, including PV, PV + storage, or standalone storage.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the renewable project lifecycle, key value drivers, and project financing.
  • Agreement Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret transaction agreements such as interconnection, power purchase, and site leases.
  • Vendor Management: Experience managing third-party vendors.
