The Job You Will Perform:
Responsible for the overall quality of products produced at the Columbus Mill and accountable for keeping all departments informed about the quality assurance.
Daily Tasks:
- Responsible for the overall quality of products produced at the Columbus Mill and accountable for keeping all departments informed about the quality assurance
- Ensure proper investigations and corrective actions take place in response to customer needs
- Manage processes, products and services that address customer needs, drive innovation, differentiate us from the competition, build loyal customers and improve our financial performance
- Integrate customer and market knowledge by implementing Market Based Value Creation principles
- Significantly reduce high and normal risk complaints
- Fully utilize Vision Systems, QScope/iAuditor and Metal Detectors systems
- Ensure product specs support meet customer expectations
- Maintain and support certification ISO 9001 quality system
- Support product innovation efforts, trials, projects and commercialization
- Participate in internal and external audits including mill, GCF, and customer audits
- Interface with the Lead Team, production departments, GCF business units, CTS representatives and customers regarding quality
- Monitor and ensure corrective and preventive actions implemented in response to complaints are effective and sustainable
- Oversee the execution of every action on the corrective action report in a timely manner
The Skills You Will Bring:
Successful candidate should have:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field
- 10+ years experience in operations leadership, preferably in a Pulp & Paper Mill environment
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Experienced with site operations and product quality
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer knowledge and skills that include experience with Excel, Proficy, Pi, Parcview and Minitab
