Vice President Operations

Overview:

We are a supporting a dynamic and lean utility solar and storage company who not only develops but also constructs, operates, and maintains their renewable energy projects. With a focus on CAISO markets and some involvement in PJM and ISO.

The Senior Manager of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the construction, project management, and procurement activities within utility solar and storage. Renewable energy experience is a plus but not a requirement. This role may end up being a Manager level position or even a VP role, hence the large compensation range.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of solar and storage construction projects.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Lead project management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for equipment and materials required for solar and storage projects.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best terms and conditions.
• Potentially manage a small team
• Support the permitting process for solar projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations or project or construction management role within the power or energy industry.
• Proven experience in construction management, project management, and procurement.
• Strong knowledge of CAISO, or PJM and ISO markets.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and PVsyst software is a bonus.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%
