Position: Senior Sustainability Specialist – Energy Modeler

JOB DESCRIPTION
One of our largest and most reputable design / engineering clients is looking for a Senior Sustainability Energy Modeler to join their High-Performance team in the Midtown, Manhattan office. The High-Performance group focuses on the overall sustainability and decarbonization of both existing buildings and new buildings across the country. Industries include but are not limited to aviation, healthcare, data centers, high-rise commercial and higher education.
The Senior Energy Modeler will oversee a team of three Data Modelers and will be responsible for driving complex energy simulations using predominately IES-VE. The candidate will also be responsible for business development which will include giving high-level presentations to potential clients, sitting on panels and will ultimately help serve as the face of the High Performance team to external parties.
The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of energy modeling experience with a background using an energy modeling software experience, preferably IES or eQuest. It is not required for this person to have previous management experience, but it is essential they have natural leadership skills, strong communication skills, and the willingness to manage a team of both local NYC employees, as well as collaborate with 10+ others nationwide.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
– 8-12 years of Energy Modeling experience (cant be without that range)
– Natural leadership skills and willingness to manage 3 associates
– Experience with local NYC sustainability laws and regulations (i.e. Local Law 97)
– Energy modeling software experience (preferably IES, open to eQuest) – other systems outside of IES
– Client facing / business development experience
– Building design experience
