Position Overview

Ingevity is a growing player in the renewable energy sector, specializing in innovative biogas solutions. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Commercial Business Development Representative with a passion for promoting biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG). The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales, fostering partnerships, and expanding market share within the commercial sector.

How You Will Impact Ingevity

  • Sales and Revenue Growth:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure new business opportunities.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Develop knowledge of Ingevity solutions and their benefits
    • Effectively communicate the features and benefits of our biogas solutions to potential clients.
  • Technical Support:
    • Understand impacts of Ingevity solutions on production process
    • Troubleshoot customer processes
    • Market Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
    • Analyze competitors and market conditions to develop effective business strategies.
    • Stay up-to-date with advancements in biogas technology and processes.
    • Lead Generation and Prospecting:
    • Identify and target key decision-makers within commercial businesses interested in adopting biogas processes.
    • Generate and qualify leads through proactive outreach and networking.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
    • Cultivate new relationships with potential clients through effective communication and presentations.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, marketing, supply chain and project management, to ensure seamless client onboarding and project execution.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities using CRM software.
    • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.

    What You Need To Succeed

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
    • Minium 5 years of proven experience in business development, within the renewable energy or biogas industry is required.
    • Understanding of biogas processes and their applications.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
    • This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship to work in the US.
