The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will play a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of commercial and industrial battery storage and solar projects. The APM will work closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure project milestones are met.
- Maintain project schedules, track progress, and update project documentation regularly.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Prepare and distribute regular project updates and reports to stakeholders.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in monitoring project budgets, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the Project Manager in reviewing and approving invoices and change orders.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all project activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality protocols.
- Participate in site inspections and ensure that project deliverables meet quality expectations.
Risk Management:
- Assist in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and project schedules.
- Prepare project closeout documentation and assist in post-project evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within the renewable energy sector, construction, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with commercial and industrial-scale battery storage and solar projects is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to renewable energy projects.
