DESCRIPTION

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Drafter to work in our Design and Drafting department. Our team works a 9×80 schedule located out of our Research and Education Campus with every other Friday off.

You will prepare complex new drawings and perform drawing changes consistent with company and nationally recognized procedures and standards. You will report directly to the manager of the Design and Drafting department of the Facility and Site Services (F&SS) organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform 2D line work and 3D modeling.
  • Help determine drawing elements such as dimensions, part/component selection, tolerance, and design and process parameters. Evaluate design input from project engineers working with design engineers.
  • Make required mathematical calculations such as geometric and tolerance stack up calculations.
  • Work with design engineers to specify parts, assemblies, and installation.
  • Contribute design modification ideas to improve the quality of the product or facilitate
  • construction/fabrication.
  • Provide field/as-building documentation support.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other modeling software.
  • Occasionally collaborate with professionals outside of F&SS organization.
  • Report progress appropriately to project team and line management.
QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 2: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years related experience.
  • Level 3: High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years related experience.
  • Must be familiar with welding requirements, material properties, fabrication methods, mechanics, and machine design.
  • Must have overall understanding of different types of drawings (e.g., architectural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, structural, civil, engineering drawings, etc.).

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 2 ($25.18/hr – $41.54/hr) / Level 3 ($29.46 – $48.61). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
