Head of Development – Utility Scale Renewables – USA – €Excellent + Bonus + Career Prospects

Are you able to lead a large Onshore Development Portfolio? Have you experience in the development life cycle from start to finish? Are you excited by the prospect of leading a team for a global player within the Onshore renewables sector?

Further expansion, budget and global demand for expansion has created the opportunity for a Head of Development to accelerate their regional growth plans within PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT. The Role:

As Head of Development, you will be responsible for support leading the group’s greenfield project development, M&A, and PPA activities of utility scale onshore Wind ,Solar PV and Battery Storage projects. Some duties will include:

  • Lead the of utility scale renewable energy projects wihtin PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT
  • Drive strategy and the organizations existing greenfield pipeline
  • Guide the team on identification and prioritization of Wind & PV projects.
  • Manage the development of authorised/ready to build projects.
  • Recruit, lead & manage the development team for future success
  • Manage PM’s, associate project developers, subject matter experts, landowners, and utility / stakeholder engagements.
  • Solve problems and find inventive ways to ensure success of projects
  • Take a leading role in commercial negotiations

The Person:

The successful candidate will likely have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Law
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in renewable energy development: origination, interconnection, land acquisition, landowner lease negotiations, public / private land research, due diligence, permitting, interconnection, etc.
  • Strong working experience with utility scale renewable projects
  • A strong network of Developers, EPCs, OEMs, and Financial Institutions
