ABOUT THE ROLE

The Raw Materials Technician ensures efficient and safe operation of various mobile mining equipment while adhering to safety policies and demonstrating adaptability to changing tasks and equipment needs. Effective communication with quarry staff, the quarry coordinator, and the quarry manager is essential, along with the ability to work both independently and within a team, performing additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Prioritize Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all working areas.
  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
  • Operate Mobile Mining Equipment: Efficiently handle various heavy machinery.
  • Adaptability: Be willing to accept change and strive for improvement. Tasks and equipment needs change as per cement plant requirements; thus, individuals must possess a variety of task skills.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Work effectively within a team environment as well as independently, being a self-starter.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively and timely with quarry staff, quarry coordinator, and quarry manager.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 992K Pit Loader
  • 992G Stockpile Loader
  • 6030 Shovel
  • 777 Haul Trucks
  • D11 Dozers
  • Water Truck
  • Drill
  • Grader

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience with heavy equipment.
  • Previous surface mining experience or experience with large mobile equipment is preferred.
  • Welding, cutting, and mechanical skills are desired.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Local travel as needed.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills in English.
  • Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.
  • Punctual and reliable; good attendance is required.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and listening.

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
