Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable individual to join our team as an Aggregates Truck Driver in Bellingham and surrounding area. As an Aggregate Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a gravel truck to transport construction materials to and from various job sites. Your exceptional driving skills and attention to safety will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our construction projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a gravel truck to transport construction materials, such as gravel, sand, and other aggregates, to and from job sites.
  • Load materials onto trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening.
  • Unload materials at designated locations, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and other personnel to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time logs, mileage, and fuel consumption
Safety responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving the truck.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and cleaning the vehicle regularly.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving and FMCSA Clearinghouse record
  • Proven experience as a gravel truck driver, preferably in a construction or similar environment.
  • Solid understanding of traffic rules, regulations, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to operate a gravel truck safely and efficiently. Competencies:
  • Safety Oriented.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other personnel.
  • Physical stamina to withstand long hours of driving and loading/unloading materials.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Able to work unsupervised. Comfortable and capable of working at heights.
  • Demonstrates commitment to safety for oneself and others.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Time and self-management skills as part of a team or independently.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in problem-solving, decision making and multi-tasking.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays

Note: This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the combined role of Gravel Truck Driver and Loader Operator. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, and flexibility in work hours may be required based on project demands.
