Summary
The Materials Engineering Intern will be responsible for:
- Support daily manufacturing and supply chain activities such as disposition of NCRs, review and approval of raw material supplier provided documentations for forgings, pipes, bolting, etc.
- Develop and/or update internal Material Specifications to industry standards compliance and customer requirements.
- Participate in design reviews for material selection and recommendations.
- Conduct failure analysis and investigations.
The Intern also will learn about the following:
- Requirements for Materials applicable to Oil and Gas industry (API, ASTM, NACE, DNV).
- Apply textbook knowledge to solve engineering problems
- Hands on experiences of material testing and qualifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
- Currently enrolled and working toward completion of Bachelor or Graduate degree from an accredited university or college with Mechanical Engineering majors preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Good interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across multiple functions to achieve desired results.
- Ability to work independently or within a larger team as required by the project and subsystem.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office products, i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
