Job Description

Overview::
HGA is an award winning architectural, engineering and planning firm seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr Project Specifier to provide support for project teams nationwide. This position prepares complex project manuals (including technical specifications, bidding requirements, conditions and related documentation) and provides coordination of specifications with the drawings, clients, consultants, and other disciplines as required to produce a complete project manual in a manner that is responsive to the client’s needs and deadlines consistent with HGA architectural procedures, standards and quality expectations.

In this role you will::

  • Work closely with architectural / engineering team leaders, our in-house door hardware specifiers, construction administration and cost estimating teams, construction managers, consultants, and clients as necessary in the preparation of the construction specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain firm master guide specifications using current MasterFormat and CSI standards, including contracting requirements, general requirements, and technical content.
  • Prepare schematic design narratives, preliminary project descriptions, and design development outline specifications.
  • Lead the coordination of material identification and annotation between drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct research and contribute technical assistance in establishing or evaluating criteria for quality of materials and their application.
  • Stay abreast of evolving systems and materials and work with other specifiers and HGAs Sustainability team to ensure that current data is documented for current and future use.
  • May assist project managers in developing contractual provisions and administrative procedures to be employed during construction phase of a project.

You will need to have::

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering with a minimum of 7 years experience, or
  • Technical degree in related field with 15 years construction
  • Professional registration and/or CCS certification preferred
  • Experience on large projects acceptable in lieu of CCS
  • Experience with a variety of project types
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of VisiSpecs or other current specification-editing software is preferred
  • Knowledge of CAD / Revit and other graphic programs and editing software desired

Salary Information::

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGAs robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range $99,500 – $133,200
