Job Description

Overview::
HGA is an award winning architectural, engineering and planning firm seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Door Hardware Project Specifier to provide support for our national offices. This position prepares complex project door hardware specifications in coordination with project design teams, other disciplines, consultants, and client requirements.

In this role you will::

  • Work closely with our team of in-house specifiers, architectural / engineering teams, construction managers, facility managers, owners representatives, consultants, and clients as necessary to prepare and coordinate door hardware specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain door hardware specification using current CSI format.
  • Write mechanical and electrified hardware groups, operational descriptions and coordinate with multiple other specification sections related to openings.
  • Conduct research and contribute technical assistance in establishing or evaluating criteria related to functionality, life safety and design of doors and door hardware.
  • Stay abreast of product literature and changes in the industry.
  • Be able to manage work in a fast pace environment on multiple projects in various stages of development.

You will need to have::

  • Minimum 3 years experience with door hardware specifications including electrified hardware, and or consultancy
  • Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC), and Door Hardware Institute (DHI) not necessarily required.
  • Knowledge of California codes preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Life Safety codes related to openings
  • Experience with a variety of project types
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of CAD / Revit programs and editing software desired

Salary Information::

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGAs robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range $84,000 – $109,200
