Job Description

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Rotational Development Program Associate located in Dallas, TX with an estimated start date of July 2025. This is a 2 year rotational development program that will provide high potential individuals with the opportunity to rotate throughout several functions before settling on a career direction. The candidate will take ownership on assigned projects and gain cross functional knowledge and experience throughout the program. The Commercial program rotation options include Crude Supply, Products Supply & Trading, Optimization and the Branded Marketing departments. Associates will rotate for six month assignments. The rotational development program will allow candidates to develop a strong understanding of our business and each department’s role while contributing to the success of the organization. We will also provide you with networking opportunities, lunch & learns with company leadership and in-house training opportunities.

Job Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

Branded Marketing:

  • Monthly Operational Analysis of business for Monthly Scorecard
  • Key Performance Indicators – drivers for volume (consumer demand (VMT, site visits, weather events, etc.), refinery performance), pricing environment, identify distributor discrepancies, highlight discounts or pricing outliers
  • Review/Audit AFE realized project economics assess if the correct assumptions were used for branding sites based off AFE submitted
  • Validate site volume performance, assess loyalty program usage (% DINOPAY transactions, DINOPAY SG&A cpg), % product grade (Unl, Mid, Prem, Diesel), ratio of deals done with Distributor/site packages and overall conversion of sites from prospect to branded, credit card processing margin, use of capital, product margin, lead time for branding and contractor feedback, etc.
  • ROI on Marketing Investments by region o Analyze Premium Fuel Marketwhere are our biggest opportunities, how do our competitors perform in this space
  • Tier Distributors Identify top distributor qualities come up with set of metrics to rank distributors
  • Create Regional KPIs benchmark opportunities against what we consider good for that region o Average site throughput, site size (# of pumps), attrition rate, NTB rate, NTI rate, avg. secret shopper score

Crude Supply:

  • Rotate through multiple scheduling desks and provide assistance to desk leads
  • Ownership of data for daily P&L reporting. Align Risk Reports, Scheduling and Inventory data
  • Crude oil Quality sampling and analysis, as determined by Scheduling Manager
  • Crude Trading exposure
  • Inventory management projects as determined by manager
  • Direct ownership and responsibility of assignment deliverables

Products Supply & Trading:

  • Product Scheduling exposure
  • Inventory reporting (converting spreadsheets to Power BI dashboards)
  • Exchange economic profitability analysis
  • Butane storage economic analysis and quality analysis
  • Profit/Loss analysis on product storage program
  • Direct ownership and responsibility of assignment deliverables

Optimization:

  • Gather and share market intelligence with Commercial organization
  • Support quarterly ELT & Board of Director information packet development
  • Streamline data aggregation tools to increase group efficiency
  • Update/refresh internally developed models with latest information
  • Gather and compile data for various groups in Commercial organization as support to broader initiatives
  • Direct ownership and responsibility of assignment deliverables

Experience

Must have successfully completed an internship program and must be a recent college graduate.

Education Level

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business or related field with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

Required Skills

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Excel (e.g., V-Lookup, pivot tables); and strong analytical skills with solid attention to detail. Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task complex requirements. Intermediate reading, writing and mathematical skills. Needs to show initiative and strong problem solving skills. Must be results oriented with an ability to influence through good written and verbal communication.


Work Conditions

Office based with up to 20% travel by land or air.

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 20lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 20lbs, climbing up to 40 ft, perceiving color differences, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid State drivers license and proof of insurance, and wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).
