Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Service/Inspection Technician to join our team. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of solar equipment. troubleshooting and completing a diagnostic on Residential PV systems. Uninstall PV systems. Complete miscellaneous service work related to solar installation which can include but is not limited to painting, replacing broken roof tiles, stucco patch, Electrical troubleshooting, trenching, concrete, and interior repairs. Prep completed installations for final inspection, per the local building department requirements. Complete miscellaneous work related to solar installation. Meet with AHJ Inspector to ensure the project permit is signed off. These inspections lead to successful sign-off and milestone completion, allowing an installation to become operational.
Responsibilities:
- Review scope of work with assigned coordinator prior to leaving office
- Pick up all material needed to complete scope work from the warehouse
- Verify all equipment is accurate and in good condition for work that is required prior to leaving the warehouse.
- Arrive at the jobsite at scheduled time
- Communicate with the Homeowner once on site regarding scope of work and status of Inspection
- Inspect system upon arrival confirm there is No outstanding work that needs to be completed that is not listed as scope of work. If there is additional work that needs to be completed call your inspection coordinator and inform them of the additional work
- Complete all scope of work listed on schedule and any additional work required that was discovered when you inspected the system
- Have the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve a variety of solar service issues.
- Complete all fields in site capture while on site
- Call inspection manager while inspector is on site if inspector is failing the project
- Ensure that all funding timelines are met. Stay Current on funding criteria
- Call into the office for your morning, mid day, and EOD RTR
- Complete a job walk with homeowner ensure customer is set up to view production on monitoring
- Complete 1 to 3 Inspections daily per schedule
- Leave system in the appropriate status when leaving the jobsite (On,Standby, or off)
- Pass rate must be at a minimum of 80% every month
- Complete all Daily reports and material cost sheet while on jobsite to ensure that documents are accurate and detailed
- Successfully complete Scopes of work with minimum return trips
- Return all used RMA equipment back to warehouse for processing the day after the service call
- All Documents and photos must be turned in by the next business day
- Communicate with customer while on site keeping them up to date on Scope of work
- Keep work areas and Company vehicles clean and organized
- Attend weekly safety meeting and all inspection meetings
- Maintain safe work practices
Job Requirements:
- Report to corporate headquarters at 6:00am
- Travel to and from job sites(mostly in southern California may change as company grows)
- Maintain a continuous active plan and working cell phone
- Ability to read building plans
- Not afraid of heights; be comfortable working on single story, two story, and three story roofs
- 2 year of experience in PV installations, electrical,roof, general construction and or low voltage
- Stay up to date on all industry trends
- Have and carry a valid drivers license
- Have Hand and (or) Power Tools needed to successfully install PV systems.
- Wear a company safety vest and ID badge at all times.
Physical Activities and Demands
- Able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation and reports
- Manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and arms
- Have the stamina to work long hours and overtime, if assigned; must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts.
- Physically active the majority to entire shift including all within moderate, lifting up to 75 pounds

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
