Roles and Responsibilities
The Site Acquisition manager will lead all aspects of securing land control for the company’s greenfield solar and storage department. The ideal candidate will need to have 10+ years of related real estate or landman experience. Some of the activities the Site Acquisition manager will perform are:
- Working with the Development Team to determine target land campaign areas.
- Researching parcel ownership and contact information for landowners as needed.
- Understanding and/or determining land ownership information through review of provided data, deed, plat book, and tax roll research.
- Meeting with and educating landowners about the company and development process.
- Producing, ordering, or reviewing title diligence reports
- Negotiating and executing options, leases and/or easement agreements for solar and energy storage projects.
- Coordinating agreements with the legal department for review and approval.
- Coordinating and executing right of way strategy with minimal oversight.
- Maintaining landowner relationships through construction.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the industry and latest energy practices.
- Ensuring agreements are accurately executed, payment instruction forms are collected, and supporting documentation (i.e. trust documents) is properly filed.
This position will support the Eastern Development Team and will based in Birmingham, AL
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field, or 10+ years of industry experience
- Experience with project real estate rights, land contracting, title resolutions and diligence.
- Hands-on experience with the day-to-day management of projects and demonstrated track
record of successfully managing landowner engagement from initial contact to signing.
- Self-starter with proven ability to lead diverse project teams in multiple regions.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Experience and expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
