As a Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Project Manager at GreenSpark Solar, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of rooftop commercial solar projects. This includes managing contracting, scheduling, engineering plans and designs, construction, and project close-out procedures. You will ensure that all stakeholder commitments and company financial objectives are met. Initially, this role will involve dual reporting to both the Commercial PM Manager and the C&I business unit leader as we establish the new division.
- Level 1 Candidate – This person typically enters the position with either a general background of technical solar or project/process management knowledge. Can work independently but requires the daily support of a Senior Project Manager and/or Portfolio Manager.
- Level 2 Candidate – This individual typically has general experience in the construction trades or has a technical solar background. Has established project management experience. Can work independently with limited day to day support from a Senior Project Manager and/or Portfolio Manager
Job Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Origination Team to identify and develop new project opportunities, conduct pre-contract evaluations, and manage contract handoffs.
- Direct and manage all personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning through job close-out.
- Schedule and conduct progress inspections, ensuring quality control and timely reporting on site status before, during, and after construction.
- Monitor and report on project progress, timelines, and milestones, ensuring alignment with plans and budget.
- Coordinate and oversee vendors, subcontractors, and engineers on multiple projects concurrently.
- Proactively identify and document project risks, develop contingency plans, and manage changes in scope, schedule, and cost.
- Uphold and track company safety and quality standards throughout all projects.
- Deliver excellent project management and maintain strong client relationships, balancing the needs of utilities, customers, and third-party financiers.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks across multiple projects, ensuring efficient and effective project completion.
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant project experience, with at least 1 year in direct project or construction management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (5 years of experience can substitute for a degree).
- NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional or equivalent (strongly preferred).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (strongly preferred).
Desired Skills & Abilities
- Initiative to drive projects forward, take calculated risks, and make high-level decisions independently
- Expertise in interpreting multi-trade construction drawings and specifications, with a strong understanding of surveying, civil, structural, and electrical construction best practices
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges related to utility companies, site conditions, and customer requirements, while adhering to budgets and timelines
- Proficiency in maintaining project budgets, schedules, documentation, and correspondence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- Familiarity with ERP systems like Netsuite or similar
Work Environment
- This role is primarily sedentary, with an estimated 50% remote work from project sites and 50% in-person
- Expected to visit job sites 3-4 times per month

- Salary Range: $60,000-$87,000 annually
- Level 1: $60,000-$72,000
- Level 2: $72,000-$87,000
