Job Description


Role:
  • Serve as Senior Engineer on assigned renewable energy projects.
  • Be a direct interface with the Renewable Energy project team.
  • Attend project meetings for current and future projects.
  • Support scoping projects as needed by performing conceptual drawing creation, scope of work (SOW) creation, creating Class III estimates, and participating in bid reviews.
  • Be a Senior Engineer on assigned renewable energy projects and interface with EPC engineering team. This includes, but is not limited to, attending meetings, providing direction to the EPC, reviewing design packages for conformity to standards, and answering RFIs.
  • Provide technical support on non-assigned EPC design packages as needed, including but not limited to helping on design package checks and providing technical insight for complex designs.
  • Attend site visits as needed for scoping assessments, project kick-offs, competitive bid meetings, and others as requested by Entergy.
  • Perform engineering work using judgement in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for various engineering systems of varying size and medium to high complexity under the direction of the incumbent-s supervisor or other professional engineer. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Preliminary design, budgetary estimating, and scheduling.
  • Detailed design, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Equipment specification, proposal evaluation and requisitioning.
  • Engineering calculations to assure safety and performance of equipment and systems.
  • Application of appropriate Engineering subject matters and systems.
  • Coordinating design engineering and equipment delivery to meet construction schedules.
  • Acquisition of on-site measurements and other data to accomplish the design or enable the evaluation of equipment performance.
  • Checking completed job for quality, adequacy of design, and documentation.
  • Monitor the construction of various electrical systems as assigned to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Activities may include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Monitor construction work to assure conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Monitor work to assure compliance with applicable engineering and construction codes and practices.
  • Monitor construction schedules to ensure timely completion of the work.
  • Direct changes to the work when requested by the Project Engineer.
  • Carry out programs for the testing of materials, equipment, or plant systems at the direction of the Project Engineer.
  • Support in evaluation and approval of contractor-s invoices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
  • Minimum 8 years related experience (completion of master’s degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
  • Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standard
