Job Description

We live in a time with big societal problems. Globally there are millions of people in poverty and that lack access to adequate food. In the U.S. there are significant increases in food insecurity and crime, decreases in math and reading proficiency, and more.

The Grateful Giving Foundation is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit tech with a purpose to take on the world’s biggest problems by using every financial transaction for good. Our vision is that every time the world spends money, a small portion is used to give food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless and help to thousands of other causes.

Grateful Giving builds software that makes giving from every transaction as easy and automated as breathing. I founded Grateful Giving as a solo founder. We have fully functioning software and have validated the idea and the impact (giving donations to over 2,500 other nonprofits in all 50 U.S. states so far). But I have found that growing Grateful Giving is a bigger task than I can achieve on my own.

We are forming a network of state/local Giving Leadership Councils. Each Leadership Council will have the following responsibilities:

  • Meet quarterly by Zoom
  • Review nonprofit nominees in your Council’s assigned geography
  • Vote to select one or more nonprofit(s) for your Council to support each quarter
  • The selected nonprofits will receive an upfront grant and will be promoted as a featured nonprofit in the Grateful Giving software
  • We will also partner with each Council’s selected nonprofits to launch a retail cause marketing campaign for them using the Grateful Giving platform

We are seeking volunteers to join each Leadership Council, and we are also specifically co-chairs for each Council. Co-Chairs will have the following additional responsibilities:

  • Schedule times for your Council’s quarterly Zoom meetings
  • Run each Leadership Council meeting
  • Manage your Leadership Council members
  • Actively recruit additional Leadership Council members from your own personal network

Giving Leadership Council Co-Chair minimum requirements:

  • Prior leadership experience in business, technology, the nonprofit sector or government
  • Believe in charitable giving including personally giving to multiple groups
  • Willing to directly participate in giving to the groups selected by your Leadership Council (similar to a giving circle)
  • Prior experience chairing a for-profit or nonprofit board, council or committee
  • Located in the U.S.

The Grateful Giving team is remote, and Giving Leadership Council members can be located anywhere in the United States. We are ultimately seeking to form Leadership Councils in all 50 U.S. states and several large metro areas as we look to execute a national strategy on a regional and local level. As a Leadership Council member this is a part-time, volunteer position with a one-year renewable term.
