Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience structuring partnerships, investments, or commercial agreements in clean energy or similar sectors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of advanced clean energy technologies, such as next generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, long duration energy storage, CCS, and advanced grid technologies.
  • Understanding of energy markets, utilities, and associated policy, and regulatory environments.
  • Ability to collaborate and align interests across multiple stakeholder groups to achieve impact.
  • Ability to independently shape and drive complex programs in ambiguous environments.

As a Program Manager at Google, youll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. The Advanced Clean Technologies team sits within Climate Operations, and works to unlock and scale the advanced clean technologies we need to achieve Googles clean energy and decarbonization goals, through strategic investments, offtake, and partnerships. Examples of technologies we work on include: next generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, long duration energy storage, grid technologies, and carbon removals technologies.

You will identify and architect commercial, investment, and partnership opportunities for Google to accelerate the commercialization of advanced clean energy technologies (e.g., next generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, CCS, long duration energy storage, advanced grid technologies), in pursuit of our 24/7 Carbon Free Energy (CFE) and Net Zero goals.

The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Googles global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify, structure, and execute innovative opportunities for partnerships, offtake, and strategic investment in advanced clean technologies that advance our sustainability goals and address data center energy needs, partnering collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build a pipeline of opportunities by maintaining an up-to-date understanding of and relationships with technology providers and developers in select advanced clean energy technology categories.
  • Support the development of Googles strategy for advanced clean technologies based on analysis of market conditions, policy and regulations, and other factors impacting the scale-up and deployment of these technologies.
  • Support the development of Googles cross-functional programs supporting advanced clean technology deployment.
