Job Description

Position Summary:

We are partnering with an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPC) company that specializes in producing ethanol from diverse feedstocks, such as agricultural residues, grains, and other renewable sources to find a Senior Project Manager to join their team. In this role, you will oversee the company’s energy projects from inception through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and the initiation of plant operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively uphold the company’s vision and core values in all project management activities.
  • Manage all project phases from inception through completion and transition to operations personnel.
  • Work closely with teams from engineering, construction, plant operations, new project development, and administrative staff.
  • Ensure that project management processes are documented accurately and promptly, adhering to commercial and company standards.
  • Oversee regulatory submissions, permitting, process and plant designs, design reviews, supplier selection, procurement, construction, commissioning, and training of plant personnel.
  • Play a role in securing plant sites, feedstock supply agreements, off-take agreements, and funding for new projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for state and EPA regulatory authorities.
  • Act as a primary liaison between the company and local communities, state and regulatory authorities.
  • Assist in creating and managing project budgets.
  • Participate in hiring and training of company personnel and plant operational staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil) with 12+ years of related project management experience is preferred
  • PE License is a plus
  • Strong background in managing projects involving petrochemical, chemical conversion or steam-based power production processes, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to industry standards.
  • Familiarity with the use of mass/energy modeling (ASPEN or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability in overseeing the bidding process and managing procurement activities with subcontractors.
  • Experience in overseeing projects or engineering endeavors with a budget exceeding $10 million.
  • Familiarity with fuel testing procedures and ASTM fuel standards is a plus!
  • Proficient with CAD and PC.
  • US Citizenship is required.
