Job Description Summary Install, maintain, and repair internal factory equipment. Supervise employees who perform maintenance and tool making. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Central Authority for construction project engineers and contractors for management of change and utility allocation.
  • Owner of library of process piping drawings, including utility gases (Ar, H2, N2, O2, CNG), compressed air, potable/process water, and heat transfer systems
  • Consolidate, create and update P&ID’s for process gases associated with various tank farms on the site and utility-fed piping.
  • Manage library of drawings for underground utilities and maintain a comprehensive master file.
  • Collaborate with HVAC team to manage and document process heat loads. Keep a database of impact of heat loads of new and existing equipment on the HVAC system.
  • Collaborate with on-site Waste Treatment team regarding changes to and documentation of waste streams and underground piping.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with site-wide risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Guide projects and methods to consider all objectives of execution. Consider impact to other areas, overall plant utility allocation, LEAN roadmap, and decarbonization. Consider cumulation of upcoming demands to forecast major changes to infrastructure.
  • Author site standard methods and materials documents for piping, ducting, and other process mechanical systems.
  • Identify best practices and communicate to internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Propose alternate solutions to address more complicated manufacturing problems. Focusing on safety and sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or related field OR High School diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Facilities Engineering
  • Experience with AutoDesk suite of design tools / AutoCAD.
  • Must be competent working in 2D architectural drawings (floorplans, elevations), 3D/isometric drawings, and schematics/P&ID’s.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
  • This position is 100% onsite in at the GE Greenville, SC plant

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with AutoDesk Revit or similar building information management tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities from multiple customers.

Pay Transparency

The starting base pay range for this position is $90,400-120,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This posting is expected to close on July 11, 2024, or thereafter.

  • The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
