Job Overview Join our esteemed organization as a Program Associate based in Arizona, where you will significantly contribute to advancing solar energy initiatives throughout the state. Collaborating closely with the Program Director and regional team, you will work in a supportive and professional atmosphere to fulfill our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement solar collective purchase programs while engaging partners, media, and the community
  • Provide technical assistance to interested individuals in solar energy
  • Advocate for policy objectives with legislators, local authorities, and the Arizona Corporation Commission
  • Coordinate outreach and events with partner municipalities
  • Foster community engagement and volunteer initiatives across diverse urban and rural areas
  • Create and distribute educational resources on solar energy topics to empower advocates
  • Represent our program in coalitions and at various events
  • Manage the Arizona Facebook page while conducting policy, regulatory, and market research
  • For candidates fluent in Spanish:
  • Assist and communicate with Spanish-speaking solar owners and advocates
  • Collaborate with Spanish-speaking partners to enhance solar education and resources
  • Host or participate in Spanish-language solar educational events

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in computer applications and remote work
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Initiative and a proactive work approach
  • Experience in planning and delivering presentations and events, both virtually and in-person
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred

Qualifications

  • Residency in Arizona
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in community organizing, project management, or advocacy campaigns
  • Reliable transportation for regular in-state travel (1-2 trips/month) with occasional overnight stays
  • Understanding of social, energy, and environmental issues relevant to Arizona
  • Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Willingness to relocate to Arizona if not currently a resident
