Position Description Summary:
The department of Romance, German, and Slavic Studies at The George Washington University invites applications for one full-time renewable, specialized, non-tenure accruing appointment at the rank of Teaching Instructor of Spanish language to begin as early as fall 2025 with an initial three-year appointment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties will include but are not limited to teaching seven (4/3) Spanish language courses per year, as well as participating in the development, maintenance, and implementation of curriculum and assessment instruments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at the minimum an M.A. in Spanish Pedagogy, Second Language Acquisition or Spanish Language. Two years of experience teaching Spanish language courses at the college level, native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English; demonstrated teaching excellence at different levels of Spanish language, as evidenced by evaluations, teaching assessments, letters of recommendation, etc.
Advertised Salary:
68,000 – 75,000 (Salary Commensurate with experience.)
