What part will you play?
- GAF Energy is seeking a Roof Crew Lead to lead a team installing and replacing Timberline Solar roof components such as solar modules, asphalt shingles, and various accessories as needed.
- The Roof Crew Lead will manage the crew and handle in-person customer interactions onsite. They will be able to efficiently and independently prioritize tasks to deliver on deadlines and minimize downtime.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong residential roofing and solar construction skill set, and an aptitude for applying their skills to efficiently diagnose and fix problems.
- Specific training will be provided on our Timberline Solar roofing system.
What will you do?
- Manage a schedule of projects within your crews scope to ensure they meet and exceed internal and external expectations.
- Use test equipment to take measurements on solar roof system components and evaluate their performance based on pass/fail criteria provided.
- Determine materials and equipment needed to install and replace roofing and solar system components.
- Set up, secure, climb, and descend ladders and equipment to access residential roofs.
- Install and use safety equipment during work tasks, including Personal Fall Arrest Systems when working at heights.
- Follow installation plans and work instructions to install and replace roofing and solar components.
- Work efficiently and safely with hand and power tools.
- Communicate effectively with customers and homeowners to schedule new work and report on the results of completed work.
- Work with other Quality Assurance and Operations teams to provide the best customer experience.
What do we require from you?
- 2+ years of verifiable experience in roofing and/or residential solar installation.
- Experience working in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite environments.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, preferably with a demonstrated record of safe driving.
- The ability to travel often.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform other physical tasks in a seasonal outdoor environment.
Additional qualifications (not required)
- Safety, Quality certifications, roofing or electrical apprentice or licensed journeyperson.
- Equipment certifications such as aerial, scissor, and forklift equipment.
Individuals hired for this position can reasonably expect an hourly range within the range of $35 – 41 per hour. The company provides comprehensive health and retirement savings plan benefits that support an employee’s total well-being, and this position comes with a company vehicle.
