Job Description In Geotechnics we provide marine geotechnical services to determine and manage the ground risk associated with marine project development. Using technical expertise, advanced exploration tools, field and laboratory testing, computer simulations and quantitative methods, we identify, evaluate and resolve your geotechnical design challenges.

The Geotechnical Driller – Marine is responsible for routine and standard drilling techniques in obtaining soil samples in the safest and cost-effective manner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Responsible for coordinating and preparing equipment for drilling assignments.
  • Responsible for drilling operations including operating the drill rig and with the assistance of the Driller’s Helper mix mud, handle drill pipe, casing and other equipment.
  • Performs and assists with maintenance and cleaning of equipment and working area.
  • Maintains contact with Field Supervisor and keeps records of drilling footage, consumables and other items pertaining to drilling operations.
  • Engages in such other related activates and special projects as may be required or assigned.
  • Responsible for the quality of work performed along with personal safety as well as coworkers’ safety and the care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Supervisor of the shift and reports, while in the field, to the Driller II or operations personnel.

Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
  • Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record (Commercial Preferred).
  • Possess a High School; Technical School or Associate Degree preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years or more of offshore drilling experience.
  • Experience working in the offshore wind sector a plus
  • Extensive travel is involved.
  • Most work is performed offshore from a floating vessel.
  • 4-8 weeks offshore usually 4 weeks at home.
