Role Description

The Electrode Engineering team within the Technology group at Form is multidisciplinary and focused on delivering qualified battery cell designs that meet operational performance targets, at cost and with high reliability, from controlled processes on high-volume manufacturing lines for Form Energy’s utility-scale multi-day energy storage system.

We’re hiring an experienced Senior Manager to lead the Electrode Design and Performance teams in Somerville, MA. Our Electrode Design and Performance teams bring together experts in material, battery, and test engineering to understand, design, and validate Form Energy’s electrodes. In this role, you will lead the team to characterize, test, and create specifications for new electrode materials and processes in collaboration with our Supply Chain, Research & Development, Anode Manufacturing, and Cell Engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and grow a world-class team of engineers that designs and validates Form Energy’s electrodes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, DFM, cost, and reliability
  • Work with consulting companies, vendors, manufacturing engineers, and technical operations to transition designs from the prototype stage to high volume production
  • Drive verification testing of your team’s design work

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; with 7+ years of industry experience
  • Experience taking a storage product from concept through mass-production
  • Hands-on practical experience with electrochemical system design
  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and mentoring direct reports
  • Strong technical communication skills, especially with external parties and across internal functional teams
