As a member in the Corporate Sustainability function, this position will play a vital role in developing and implementing innovative solutions to reduce FMCs emissions and drive progress towards our Net-Zero 2035 GHG emissions goal. We are looking for individuals who are driven, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of sustainable practices and low carbon/renewable energy solutions. Reporting to the Global Director of Sustainability, this role will work closely with FMCs Sustainability Engineer and manufacturing and procurement teams and will manage key sustainability impact projects and develop the global energy strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop FMCs global energy strategy focusing on recommendations around energy types, energy efficiency and technology advancements that will enable FMC to reach our net-zero 2035 Scopes 1 and 2 goal.
  • Perform economic evaluations including ROI and cost benefit analysis of implementation of the global energy strategy and identify key project opportunities for early action implementation.
  • Manage the design, bid evaluation and execution of new sustainability projects for emissions reduction, energy reduction, waste reduction, water reduction, and low carbon/renewable energy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends including the latest opportunities and technology advancements in sustainability and carbon reduction.
  • Develop and maintain timelines, coordinate/manage meeting schedules and manage budgets of sustainability projects, ensuring that all sustainability projects are completed safely within the designated time frame and within budget.
  • Train and educate team members and other employees on sustainable best practices and initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams at manufacturing facilities to develop and deploy sustainable solutions that minimize environmental impact and advance sustainability goals.

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience (preferably in renewable/clean energy, sustainability and/or chemical engineering)
  • Experience in managing complex multidisciplinary design and construction projects.
  • Familiar with manufacturing environments and common industrial process equipment. Chemical sector experience a plus.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to work with engineers and operations leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and applications, energy conservation, and environmental impact of energy use.
  • Experience in GHG inventory accounting including the GHG protocol and science-based targets.
  • Proficient in continuous improvements tools and processes.
  • Strong leadership, project management, strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly articulate complex subjects to all levels of a global organization.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
