ABOUT THIS POSITION

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) in Alpharetta, GA

We are looking for an experienced Program Manager with a strong background in the energy sector to oversee and drive both business and technical initiatives within our services team. This role will involve coordinating complex projects, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring that strategic goals are met effectively and efficiently. Reporting directly to the VP of Services, this position will focus on both strategic and tactical work to ensure successful program execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management:
  • Lead and manage multiple programs and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that milestones are achieved on time and within scope.
Business and Technical Initiatives:
  • Drive key business and technical initiatives forward, including the development and implementation of new services, process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation and optimization.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
  • Work closely with engineering, deployment, services, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to address issues, manage dependencies, and achieve project goals.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the VP of Services and other senior management on program progress, risks, and issues.
Risk and Issue Management:
  • Identify potential risks and issues related to program execution and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Proactively address and resolve any challenges that arise, ensuring minimal impact on program outcomes.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track program success and effectiveness.
  • Analyze performance data and generate reports to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the services team and across programs.
  • Implement best practices and standardized processes to enhance program management and delivery.
Tactical Execution:
  • Perform hands-on, tactical work to ensure the effective implementation and execution of program tasks and initiatives.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities, manage resource allocation, and address immediate operational needs as they arise.

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management, with a strong focus on business and technical initiatives. Experience in the energy sector is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in program and project management tools and methodologies. Familiarity with energy storage technologies and systems is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and make informed decisions to support program success.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage complex projects, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and drive results.
  • Tactical Skills: Hands-on experience in executing tactical tasks and addressing operational challenges effectively.
