Exus is seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Specialist, who will be responsible for the interfacing, oversight and timely completion of all regulatory filings required under the US and Canadian standards for wind and solar generation facilities. They will be responsible for all interpretation, completion, and monitoring of everyday compliance filings, along with non-routine submissions.
Please note: this is an fully onsite role with reasonable flexibility in our Downtown Pittsburgh office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining compliance and records of those, along with being the primary interface for all wind and solar assets under the Exus portfolio for all regional and regulatory entities, including FERC, NERC, NERC Regional Entities, AESO (and other Canadian Regulatory Entities), DOE, and EIA.
- Data Collection, analysis, and submission of all required filings for all regulatory bodies, reliability entities and governmental agencies, including RFIs, NERC Self-Reports, EIA 923 and 860, FERC EQR, PJM and ERCOT Compliance to name a few.
- Coordinate with hired third-party engineering support to complete all self-reports, audits, data requests relating to Exus projects.
- Coordinate and complete all required activities under NERC, along with ensuring preventative measures are taken to ensure all projects are complying.
- Collaborate with asset managers to obtain and provide all required documentation for compliance submissions.
- Maintain and organize all compliance records on the company SharePoint.
- Represent and participate on Exus behalf at conferences, workshops, and meetings for compliance matters.
- Coordinate internally with Exus on the obtaining, review and submission of any Standards of Practice and work orders from third parties to assist in any compliance matters.
- Be the liaison between all regional entities, Exus and any third-party company assisting in the completion of filings.
- Use the compliance matrix to monitor all NERC Compliance items for the portfolio.
- Be the lead on all new project compliance registrations and coordinate cross-departmentally to obtain all required information.
- Problem solve and determine remedies for any issue that would cause non-compliance with a contract.
- Refer to contracts to ensure all compliance items are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an analytical field of work, including engineering, computer sciences, contracts/legal, compliance or project management.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in compliance for all Electric Utility Compliance entities.
- Strong knowledge and grasp of FERC and NERC Protocols.
- Energy industry knowledge preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Office 365, Adobe, SharePoint, and other various applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and collaborative skills across a multitude of parties and individuals, and cooperation with regional entities as required. Be able to work independently along with collaboratively across different departments and teams.
- Strong attention to detail, along with problem solving skills to complete all compliance filings from an analytical and professional standpoint.
