Responding to a growing need for carbon reduction and electrification, Aircuity is adding a Project Manager to our Thrive Buildings team. The Project Manager will report to the VP Operations and assist with engineering, systems integration, and technical management of turnkey efficiency projects. We are looking for a team member to support both preconstruction and on-site management activities. In this dynamic position, the Project Manager will work with leading university, pharmaceutical clients, and engineers.

  • Project Planning and Management
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects focused on energy efficiency and decarbonization in critical environments (labs, vivariums, clean rooms, etc).
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.Manage engineers, system integrators and commission agents in the delivery of complex energy efficiency strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
    • Communicate project status, updates, and any issues or concerns to the VP of Operations and other key stakeholders.
    • Foster strong relationships with clients and ensure their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Resource Allocation and Management
    • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project tasks are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials and services as needed.
    • Monitor project budgets, expenses, and resource utilization, making adjustments as necessary to optimize project performance.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and client requirements.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality or compliance issues.
    • Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and financial records.
    • Generate regular reports on project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators.
    • Utilize Smartsheet and other project management tools to track project activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Utilize experience in engineering or systems integration to manage technical project delivery.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain OSHA 30 certification.
    • Coordinate safety efforts on construction sites and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    • Familiarity with PMP certification and utilize project management best practices to achieve project goals and objectives.

    Experience

    • 3 years or more of engineering or project management experience in the energy services, systems integration, commissioning or building controls.
    • HVAC fundamentals – Critical environment or lab experience is a plus.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, exposure to building modeling programs, and project management software.
    • Mechanical engineering or other technical degree is preferred.
    • Experience interfacing with end user clients and ability to comfortably communicate and report information to multiple stakeholders.
    • Client interface will be a key requirement of this position, so interpersonal skills and desire to provide outstanding customer service is critical.

    • Ability to manage and hold accountable a diverse team to aggressive project schedules.
    • Thrive with hands on activities, such as building walk through, site coordination, and logistics.
    • Have a “process improvement” mindset and the ability to think big picture and make recommendations to improve business processes within Aircuity and at customer sites.

    Compensation

    Annual compensation will be market competitive based on experience. Position will include bonus compensation based on achievement of profitability targets and schedule adherence by project.

    Location and Travel

    The position is remote; however, team members will need to travel as needed, which will average 30- 50%. Projects are primarily located in the Northeast, with the highest concentration in Boston. Easy access to a major airport and/or Amtrak is a must. Travel will be fully reimbursed.
