The successful candidate will support EXP’s Aviation Team in areas including, but not limited to: sustainability and net zero planning, waste, water, energy, and other resource planning, carbon management, greenhouse gas evaluations, environmental justice, climate science, climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainability market sectors, LEED, Envision and other rating system consulting, ESG reporting, grant writing/application development, performance indicator and metrics development, stakeholder engagement, and task and project management.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Perform aviation-specific planning and environmental studies.
  • Act as client-facing project manager.
  • Work within the Aviation Practice and other EXP discipline groups (planning and engineering) to incorporate findings and ensure sustainability is adequately integrated into project delivery.
  • Support design, engineering, and construction teams on green building and sustainability infrastructure projects.
  • Research sustainability topics, including industry, market, and regulatory drivers, market studies, as well as stakeholder concerns and incorporate findings into projects and client briefings.
  • Prepare technical reports, critical issues analysis, and lead stakeholder outreach programs.
  • Exhibit a depth of understanding of local, regional, and national policies and guidance related to climate science and climate change adaptation planning, and airport resilience.
  • Lead climate change vulnerability and risk assessments that consider an array of climate impacts, including sea level rise, precipitation, and temperature.
  • Attend conferences and other public forums (e.g., comfortable speaking and engaging publicly).
  • Join the broader EXP sustainability practice, network with colleagues, and engage other internal project opportunities.

What Your Experience Looks Like

  • Master’s degree or higher with a minimum 5+ years of experience.
  • Client-facing project management experience, or similar function in an internal capacity.
  • Strong professional network of clients and industry partners.
  • Experience helping organizations strategize, evaluate, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to articulate and calculate sustainability benefits to clients, including energy savings, emissions reductions, cost savings, incentives, etc.
  • Advanced technical writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Team oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Aviation experience preferred, but not required.

The pay range for this role is $100,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
