Job Description

Responsible for the data collection, processing, and analytical activities that track the status of customers participating in Eversources Solar MA Renewable Target (SMART) program and calculates and provides customer incentive payments. Communicate directly with customers regarding inquiries and issues concerning their SMART applications and incentives. Support the development, implementation, and documentation of process improvements to ensure timely and accurate processing of applications and incentive payments that enhance the customer experience and external vendor performance (SMART program administrator and SMART incentive payment servicer). Assist Director and Operations Program Manager in tasks associated with program administration as required including program analytics, database maintenance, workflow management, reporting, and other tasks.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs and documents the detailed processes, databases, and applications used to track Eversources solar customers throughout their process lifecycle from initial incentive application to long-term solar incentive payments. Identifies and recommends process improvements, including the integration of formal QA/QC measures to confirm eligibility and status of customers and ensures customer incentive payments are timely and accurate.
  • Conducts detailed and rigorous spreadsheet analysis to proactively identify and characterize ongoing and emerging customer and Eversource process issues.
  • Works and coordinates with other Eversource internal teams (distributed generation, billing, and metering) and external vendors to ensure that solar customers have a seamless and positive experience, and their issues are quickly resolved.
  • Provides recommendations to Eversource IT team on the development of interim and permanent solutions to improve and automate the application, claim, and interconnection processes.
  • Assists with improving existing renewables programs and inform and guide the development and delivery of future renewable programs and opportunities by providing input and results of Eversources solar program and conducting interdisciplinary policy, legislative, and regulatory and market research and analysis regarding renewable energy development activities in Massachusetts and other states.
  • Produces key summary statistics for the solar team, Eversource management, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • May provide guidance to solar specialists interactions with customers. Provides backup to solar specialists in answering and responding to high level customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires knowledge and skills in the quantitative evaluation of programs and projects using a wide range of analytical techniques such as database development, management, and analytics and statistical analysis; as well as research and report writing and presentation. Ability to apply these skills to achieve customer and company satisfaction.
  • Requires familiarity with renewable energy policy and technologies, particularly solar, and their application across all customer sectors.
  • Requires good communication, writing, and presentation skills; good organizational skills and attention to detail; and professionalism, commitment, and sound judgement when interacting with customers.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and other data applications.
  • Some experience in programming (Microsoft Visual Basic, Python, SQL) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Commitment to documenting work and sources for ease of use by others; efficient, inquisitive, and skilled researcher.
  • Motivated self-starter must work productively and efficiently both in a team environment and individually under intermittent supervision.
  • Must be interested in taking on new and potentially unfamiliar topics and increasing level of responsibility.
  • Ability to multi-task and a willingness to do what it takes to complete tasks efficiently.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in a field that requires quantitative analysis and/or data-based problem solving such as statistics, data analytics, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Masters Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Three (3) plus years of professional experience in program management, financial, economics, and statistical modeling, market research, operations research, program evaluation, or policy analysis.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $86,000 – $95,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
