Job Description

This is a terrific opportunity for a well-rounded Developer to join an industry leading and well-leveraged IPP. Title and compensation will be commensurate on experience, multiple positions available. Our Client is a pioneering investment group and owner/operator with a great track record of building renewable energy businesses and developing and acquiring solar and wind projects across the US.

This role will lead the development of renewable energy projects and participate in the acquisition of renewable energy assets in a highly inclusive and collaborative team environment.

This role has a physical team presence in NYC and Denver, for those keen to be on-site but is also offered fully remote (US).

You will play a pivotal role in identifying, managing, and executing early and mid-stage renewable energy projects. Your expertise will drive the development of solar, storage, wind and other renewable energy assets, ensuring successful transition from concept to operational success. You will be responsible for mitigating risks throughout the development lifecycle, from financing to construction and long-term management.

Core duties of the day to day:

– Identifying high-potential opportunities for new renewable energy projects or strategic investments in renewable assets, with a focus on optimizing returns and sustainability.

– Leading negotiations with real estate owners, utilities, local/state regulatory bodies, and other critical stakeholders to secure land, navigate technical interconnection challenges, and obtain the necessary permits and approvals.

– Collaborating closely with financial analysts to assess project viability, conducting feasibility studies, and managing due diligence to align projects with commercial goals.

– Overseeing the development process from site identification to construction handoff, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining a focus on regulatory compliance and operational performance.

Skills sought:

– Industry Expertise. Proven renewable energy development experience is required, 3 years as a minimum baseline, as is an awareness of technical, commercial, regulatory, and operational issues.

– Analytical & Technical Acumen: The successful individual will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate project financials, manage risk, and develop creative solutions to technical challenges

– Intellectual curiosity coupled with well-developed written and verbal communication skills

– The successful candidates should have an undergraduate or graduate degree coupled with an impressive background of academic and professional accomplishment.
