Director of Construction (Renewable Energy – Solar, Wind)

Looking for a Director of Construction for an industry leading and well-leveraged IPP. Our Client is a pioneering investment group and owner/operator with a great track record of developing and acquiring renewable energy projects across the US.

This role will lead the strategic direction of construction projects with overall responsibility and accountability for their quality and execution.

This role is offered fully remote (US), with travel. Base salary offered is $180,000 – $250,000 commensurate on experience.

Core responsibilities for the successful postholder include:

• Oversee and manage the strategic direction of construction projects.
• Provide leadership and guidance to construction managers to ensure timely project delivery, adherence to safety standards, and achievement of quality targets.
• Regularly liaise with senior management and teams to ensure updates and escalations are communicated effectively.
• Review proposals for pre-construction and construction, contract exhibits, and change orders.
• Develop and implement new construction strategies.
• Maintain and establish relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
• Mentor construction managers and other staff.
• Manage project timelines from pre-construction through to project close.

Skills sought:

– Industry Expertise. Proven renewable energy construction professional (wind and solar specifically). 6 years’ experience as a minimum baseline, as well as an awareness of technical, commercial, regulatory, and operational issues.

– Analytical & Technical Acumen: The successful individual will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate project financials, manage risk, and develop creative solutions to technical challenges

– Intellectual curiosity coupled with well-developed written and verbal communication skills

– The successful candidates should have an undergraduate or graduate degree coupled with an impressive background of academic and professional accomplishment.
