What To Expect Production Control (PC) Process Engineering Technicians are responsible for optimizing material flow and storage within the factory. Through continuous improvement, lean thinking, and data-driven decision making you will to create safe and sustainable process improvements to drive cost savings; projects include configuring internal order fulfillment systems, managing material warehouses, designing material delivery processes, and managing material changeovers. This role is based in Buffalo, NY and directly supports Tesla’s Solar Roof and Power Electronic programs.

What You’ll Do

Design and lead the implementation of new PC technical processesManage multiple projects, clearly communicating statuses, timelines, and objectives both within PC and to other departmentsSupport and monitor key department metrics and identify opportunities for improvementMaintain internal MRP technical systems as subject matter expertsCoordinate physical introduction of new material into production on schedule with implementation datesSupport excess & obsolescence materials management with inventory control and material planning teamsOperate as an agent of change: act as source of information relating to changes for members of other teams

What You’ll Bring

Basic understanding of warehousing, conveyance, and inventory compliance processesA proactive approach to problem solving in an ambiguous environmentTime and workload management: can accomplish work with minimal supervisionDegree in Engineering, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional abilityAbility to lift 30lbs Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and SQL experience (preferred)Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Expected Compensation

$24.00 – $46.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
