Summary

The Facility Manager will ensure that the strategic and operational vision for the facility maintenance is being carried out to the highest standards. He will be responsible for the overall performance and will have authority to represent Equans in all respect of his assigned contract.

The Facility Manager shall have at least 5 years of experience in managing maintenance service operations. The Facility Manager shall have experience in managing Contracts of similar size and scope as anticipated in the range of $2M to $3M, including managing personnel, subcontractors, employment issues, inventories, and utilizing computerized maintenance management software.

The Facility Manager shall be fully responsible for overseeing all repair and maintenance actions that occur 24/7/365 and shall include but not be limited to the following duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Supervise maintenance technicians assigned to work under management.
  • Oversee key operational decisions, including budget preparation, performance management, recruitment, retention, productivity, competency development, and other management responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain effective internal networks and collaborative relations with corporate departmental stakeholders including influencing changes and work coordination that will benefit customers.
  • Provide input to business strategies.
  • Monitor operations progress against performance targets and organize mitigation when required.
  • Ensure all key performance indicators and contractual obligations are met.
  • Ensure core business processes are in place and are working effectively.

Operations

  • Manage operational teams to ensure delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that all contractual requirements are understood by the team and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage Key Process Indicators (KPIs): delivery, development, training, and regular communication.
  • Ensure accountability of direct leaders to execute strategic plans by setting clearly defined goals and then measuring business unit results against those goals.

Budget

  • Define annual budget and manage the business to meet or exceed the budgeted financial targets.

Occupational Health and Safety

  • Ensure analysis and evaluation of risks inherent to activities under their responsibility.
  • Implement procedures to ensure a safe work environment and ensure regular monitoring.
  • Inform and train employees about the safety instructions to be respected while ensuring their application.
  • Participate in safety inspections and analyses of occupational accidents.
  • Implement safety improvements in the workplace.

Management

  • Serve as the on-site manager representing EQUANS Services and shall supervise and train his employees to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operations and maintenance, performance, supervision, and control of series provided under the contract and that these services are performed in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Produce results as per plans and financial targets through the effective management of employees and resources.
  • Must be fully familiar with the requirements of the project contract, the schedules and ensure the proper skilled staffing is provided and oversee management of various subcontractors.
  • Meet with the client Designee and Equanss corporate management on matters relating to the services performed with a view toward obtaining effective coordination of all operations. Issue reports and summaries to the client as required.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate improved processes, policies and procedures on a continuous basis, always seeking greater efficiencies and higher customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee an effective work safety program and manage health & safety issues.
  • Develop, guide, direct, motivate and manage the performance of all direct reports in line with our HR Program to assist in the realization of their potential and to enhance their knowledge-based skills.
  • Support the recruitment process ensuring the appropriate number and caliber of candidates is recruited for the division to meet its objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform any additional duties on an as required basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual limitations or as required by the Authority.

Operational

  • Establish performance standards for each phase of work. Shall be responsible for the adherence to standard practices and quality specifications for all work performed.
  • Establish a program for the acquisition, storage and accountability of all operating materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Develop planned preventative maintenance programs for the site.
  • Co-ordinate with the Purchasing Manager on requirements for maintenance materials and equipment.
  • Carry out random quality control checks.
  • Maximize communication and synergies within the team.
  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are of the required standard and that procedures are in place to prevent fraud and safety issues.

Supervise the observance of all guidelines, instructions and conditions applicable to the Project as laid down by local, State and Federal Laws.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the US;
  • Five (5) years experience in a Facilities Maintenance Company (any relevant degree combined with experience will be evaluated).
  • Facilities Management qualification or experience.
  • Trouble shooting and problem-solving experience in a medium to large organization.
  • Proven track record in managing a maintenance department in Industrial environments.
  • Computer Literate. Able to utilize with ease Microsoft Office.
  • Able to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo, Planon).
  • Available for on call problems.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
