Summary: Electrical Engineer Level III
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Solar Electrical Engineer to join our team to design and develop electrical systems for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, working closely with CAD designers, and ensuring that designs meet project requirements.
Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage (BESS) projects, including process layout, design concepts, and optimization
Design DC, Medium Voltage AC (MVAC), and Low Voltage AC (LVAC) electrical systems for solar PV and BESS applications
Collaborate with CAD designers to create detailed designs and construction plans
Ensure that designs meet project requirements, including electrical codes, safety standards, and customer specifications
Provide technical expertise to support construction teams and ensure that electrical systems are installed correctly
Develop and maintain technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles, industry standards, and emerging technologies
Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to ensure that designs meet project requirements
Design and develop electrical systems that meet industry standards, such as IEEE and NEC
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
4-7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 4+ years of experience in solar PV design
Consulting and large-scale construction experience
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, electrical system design, and power electronics
Experience with designing and developing electrical systems for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects
Experience with ETAP solution software
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in CAD design software, including AutoCAD or equivalent
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues
Qualifications
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
Experience working with renewable energy technologies, including wind power, hydro power, or geothermal energy
Knowledge of industry standards, including IEEE and NEC
Familiarity with solar panel system design and layout
Experience with electrical system testing and commissioning
