Our client is seeking a Fisheries Specialist to work within their facilities located in Stamford, CT for a 12-month contract.
Summary
The Fisheries Liaison (FL) is a critical and crucial position and component for project development and reputation with the commercial and recreational fishing communities.
Marine operations associated with project developments require close communications, engagement, and coordination with the fishing communities.
FL conducts a wide and diverse range of responsibilities and heavily supports the Permitting, Technical and Community Affairs teams.
Responsibilities
Primary point of contact between the Project and fishing community
Solicit, recruit and support offshore fishing representatives and scout boats
Solicit, recruit and support fishing industry representatives
Support offshore contractors and vessels with fisheries and marine logistics and coordination
Attend offshore wind industry meetings, fisheries industry forums, councils and seminars
Participate in outreach events and inform stakeholders of the company projects (independent and group consultations, port visits, phone calls, texts and email)
Joint Monthly Port hours in collaboration with other developer FLs
Develop and disseminate notices, newsletters and updates
Maintain fisheries contacts and outreach Mail Chimp database
Maintain 400+ fisheries contact database (stakeholders, Local, State and Federel GOV, academia and public) via Constant Contact software
Planning and compliance with the company Fisheries Communication Plan
Established and support Fisheries and Benthic Monitoring Surveys
Review and Support of the company Projects’ plans and technical documents
Established and support of the company Gear Claims Application
Establish and support with Empire Wind Compensation Plan
Support with the Regional Compensation Fund
Fisheries procurement and supplier invoicing support via SAP software
Support with vessel inspections and vetting with fishing vessels supporting Projects.
Maintain Automatic Identification System (AIS) on project websites
Maintain LNM on websites
Maintain positive and friendly relations with the commercial fishing industry and marine fisheries agencies/institutions/organizations
