Planet Reimagined is seeking a highly skilled professional with former experience in the oil and gas industry, along with expertise in relationship development, land analysis, and data management, to lead the identification of pilot sites for co-located renewable energy projects, engage with industry stakeholders to foster productive partnerships, and support site control negotiations for the Common Grounds initiative.
In this role, you will leverage your skills in relationship development, land analysis, and data management to engage with county officials, oil and gas operators, oil and gas trade associations, and energy off-takers and utilities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the Oil and Gas industry and be able to assist in the identification of pilot site locations for Common Ground’s co-located renewable energy projects, engage and develop productive relationships with oil and gas industry stakeholders in order to identify potential site hosts, and support in site control negotiations. Successful candidates for this role will have an understanding of the oil and gas industry and a background in lease and land analysis related to energy development. This role requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Engage with Oil and Gas industry stakeholders (i.e independent operators, trade associations, public officials, energy community members) to pitch the business case for the siting and development of renewable energy infrastructure with fossil energy extraction/production and recruit interested oil and gas leaseholders for pilot project deployment
- Make efforts to contact and negotiate site control with oil and gas leaseholders in order to acquire site control and prepare for possible renewable energy in the area where the property is located
- Travel and meet with oil and gas leaseholders as needed to successfully negotiate and secure site control agreements for the development of solar and wind resources
- Plan and execute local support campaigns for co-located renewable energy, including through messaging and local media outreach
- Analyze existing lease forms and provisions to understand terms such as continuous drilling obligations, retained acreage, surface/subsurface rights, shallow and deep pugh clauses etc
- Utilize GIS tools to identify and review and audit potential project sites
- Establish positive relationships with oil and gas operators, pertinent public land offices, and local leadership in key target areas
- Assist in policy conversations at the federal and state levels to increase support for the siting and development of renewable energy infrastructure with other compatible land uses, including fossil energy production and electric transmission
- Assist the broader Common Grounds team with special projects, data requests, due diligence
Qualifications Include
- +4 years experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically as a landman or a land/lease analyst
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and oil and land analysis software such as ArcGIS or other geospatial mapping and visualization tools
- Working knowledge of new and changing technology, statutes, rules, regulations, and legislative issues affecting the oil and gas industry
- Good understand of applicable laws, rules , regulations, procedures, and terminology associated with property acquisition
- A thorough understanding of various land-related contracts and agreements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate to and build relationships with a diverse range of individuals.

Additional Requirements
- The ideal candidate for this role will be located in the Southwest, specifically Colorado, New Mexico, or Utah. Outside of this location who meet the above requirements will also be considered
- Travel will be required – up to 25%
Salary And Benefits
The targeted salary range for this position is $95,000 – $105,000. Additional benefits include paid time off, flexible working hours, and a remote but highly collegial working environment
